Full .pdf of the CFP

SYMPHILOSOPHIE: International Journal of Philosophical Romanticism is now accepting submissions of original research articles for the miscellaneous section of its fourth issue (2022). – These research articles may be on any topic related to German romantic philosophy. Contributors are also invited to submit review essays, book reviews and new translations.

The year 2022 is the 250th anniversary of the birth of the two major romantic thinkers Friedrich Schlegel and Friedrich von Hardenberg (Novalis), so contributions on their philosophies would be particularly welcome.

The submission deadline for this fourth issue is: 31 March 2022.

We are also very pleased to announce Daniel Whistler (Royal Holloway, University of London) as guest editor of Symphilosophie 4 (2022). He will be in charge of the main section of the issue devoted to the topic:

“Hemsterhuis and Early German Romanticism.”

SYMPHILOSOPHIE is an online, open-access and peer-reviewed journal, and part of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. We accept submissions in four languages: English, German, French and Italian. Research articles are subject to double-blind peer review. All submitted texts must adhere to the journal’s submission guidelines and code of ethics. Any submission not following these guidelines will not be considered.

The “Preprint” section on the journal’s website allows for certain articles to be put online earlier that have already passed the peer-review process and are awaiting their final publication in the December issue.

Reminder: the third issue of SYMPHILOSOPHIE on “Science, Technology, and Early German Romanticism” will be published in December 2021.
