Call for Abstracts: Conference: Art as Philosophy? The Reception of Classical German Philosophy by Artists from the 19th Century to the Present Day

International conference co-organised by the University of Strasbourg, Institute of Advanced Studies
(USIAS), the EUR Translitterae (ENS-PSL) and the UMR Pays Germaniques, as part of the
research programme The Visionary Drawing and its Knowledge. From the Study and Valorization of
the Archives of Théophile Bra
(USIAS).

Proposals for papers, consisting of a title, an abstract of approx. 3,000 characters including spaces
and a biographical note of around 1,000 characters including spaces, should be sent to the following address: dessin.visionnaire.usias@gmail.com

Abstracts can be sent in English, French or German.

Guest Editors for Symphilosophie 3 (2021) and 4 (2022)

We are delighted to announce that the next two issues of Symphilosophie will be guest edited. The guest editor for issue 3 (2021) will be Leif Weatherby (New York University) on the topic “Science, Technology, and Early German Romanticism.” And issue 4 (2022) will be guest edited by Daniel Whistler (Royal Holloway, University of London) and devoted to the topic “Hemsterhuis and the Early German Romantics.”
